Canapé Trio

Ingredients

Echo Falls Smoked Salmon Party Slices—which include Pepper, Traditional, and Dill flavors—are crafted to make entertaining effortless. Each flavor is perfectly sliced for appetizers, making them ideal for mixing, matching, and experimenting with your favorite toppings. The recipe below is just a starting point to spark your imagination. Feel free to get creative and build your own delicious combinations using ingredients you love!

Pepper Salmon Slice

The bold, slightly spicy notes of pepper complement traditional Mediterranean flavors, for a Tuscan-inspired canapé:

  • 1 French baguette
  • 1/4 cup of Ricotta cheese
  • Optional: 2oz sun-dried tomatoes
  • Echo Falls Smoked Norwegian Atlantic Salmon Pepper Slices
  • 3 Sprigs of basil, to garnish 

Traditional Salmon Slice

Let the Traditional smoked salmon flavor shine by combining with tried-and-true favorites: 

  • Your favorite whole wheat crackers
  • 1/4 cup of a garlic and fine herbs cheese spread
  • Optional: 1 small cucumber
  • Echo Falls Smoked Norwegian Atlantic Salmon Traditional Slices
  • 3 sprigs of dill, to garnish 
  • Optional: Salmon caviar or capers

Dill Salmon Slice

The combination of dill and smoked salmon is a classic Scandinavian pairing, making this flavor perfect for a Norwegian-style canapé:

  • 1 loaf of dense Rye bread
  • 1oz Echo Falls Honey Mustard Sauce (included in package) 
  • 1/4 cup of spreadable or whipped goat cheese
  • Echo Falls Smoked Norwegian Atlantic Salmon Dill Slices
  • Sprinkle of microgreens, to garnish 

    Directions

    1. Prepare the Bases

    1. Thinly slice the French bread.
    2. Thinly slice the rye bread (if not pre-cut).
    3. Optional: Slice cucumber into thin circles. 
    4. Lay each of the various bases (crackers, sliced French bread, and sliced rye bread) flat on your favorite serving platter(s) so you can add the layers with ease.  

    2. Add the Sauce & Cheeses

    1. Spread generous amounts of ricotta cheese onto each of the French bread slices.
    2. Optional: Add 2-3 sun-dried tomatoes to each of the French bread slices, over the ricotta spread.
    3. Spread generous amounts of the garlic and fine herbs cheese onto the crackers.
    4. Optional: Add cucumber rounds to crackers with cheese. 
    5. Spread the Echo Falls Honey Mustard Sauce over the rye bread.
    6. Add whipped goat cheese over the sauce on the rye bread slices. 

    3. Layer the Smoked Salmon Party Slices

    1. Add the Pepper salmon slices to the ricotta cheese and bread slices.
    2. Add the Traditional salmon slices to the garlic and fine herbs cheese and crackers. 
    3. Add the Dill salmon slices to the goat cheese, mustard, and rye bread slices.

    4. Complete with a Garnish

    1. Add 2-3 basil leaves to each of the Pepper/Ricotta/Baguette canapes.
    2. Sprinkle dill over the Traditional/Herb Cheese/Cracker canapes. 
    3. Optional: Add a small spoonful of either salmon caviar or capers to the Traditional canapes. 
    4. Sprinkle microgreens over Dill/Mustard/Rye canapes.
